Where does coaching take place?
Individual coaching takes place over the phone, via Zoom or in person. Appointments can be made through my contact page.
Group coaching typically takes place in person at locations in Duluth and Cloquet. Group coaching and classes are also offered via teleconference.
When does coaching happen?
Coaching sessions occur at times mutually agreeable to the client and coach. Coaching via the phone or Zoom offers greater flexibility for scheduling sessions. Coaching sessions are arranged and paid for in advance per our Agreement. Clients complete “Fieldwork” between sessions to solidify learning and advance toward stated goals and are welcome to e-mail me updates, questions and success stories.
How do I get started?
Contact Sarah VanderMeiden to set up a 30-minute complimentary sample session by phone or Zoom. By the end of this first conversation, you will gain deeper insight on your goals and what you can expect from me as your coach.
What is the purpose of the complimentary session?
Your time and money are valuable. During this initial conversation, we will assess if coaching is the best approach for you. We will also determine if there is a good fit between you and I so that our partnership will be effective in helping you achieve your goals.
What happens next?
After you and I agree to enter the coaching partnership, we will schedule our first official session. I will send you a "Client-Coach Agreement" for you to review and sign as well as a "Client Information" form for you to complete. Both of these forms must be returned to me prior to our first session.
What forms of payment do you accept?
My preferred form of payment is through Zelle, though you may also pay by cash or check. Payment must be received prior to our first official session and as outlined in our Agreement.
Generally, what are coaching sessions like?
Coaching sessions are always centered around your desires and efforts. The agenda for each session is client-generated and coach-supported. To get the most value out of each coaching session, I request you e-mail me an update on your progress since our previous session. During coaching sessions, we will discuss successes, challenges and additional steps, accomplished through "Fieldwork", to get you closer to your goal. To get the most out of coaching, come to the session prepared, let me know what you want to work on, and be ready to be coached.
What is "Fieldwork" and why is it important?
"Fieldwork" are action steps for you to complete between sessions. They are designed to support forward progress to your goals. You are hiring me as your coach to assist you in reaching important personal and/or professional goals. Therefore, it is necessary to implement the action plans that arise from coaching. You may decide to do things differently than you ever have before and it will at times be challenging. However, if you choose to not take action and keep doing what you have always done, you will get the results you have always gotten.
